American Smooth
Waltz, tango, foxtrot and Viennese waltz, with the freedom to break apart and come back together.
Five programs, four ballroom styles, and instructors who adapt all of it to the person in front of them.
The fastest way to progress. One-on-one with an instructor, working on exactly what you want to work on.
Some students come to prepare for a specific event. Some come because they have always wanted to dance and never had the chance. Some come for the exercise and the company. All of it works, and the lesson is shaped around you either way.
No partner is required. Lessons are available for adults and for children, at every level from a first lesson to advanced competitive work.
Learning in a group is social, forgiving and a lot of fun. It is also where most of our students meet the people they end up dancing with for years.
Adult groups cover the social ballroom and Latin dances you will actually use: waltz, foxtrot, tango, rumba, cha cha, swing and more. Children's groups build coordination, musicality and confidence in an environment designed for their age.
See the weekly schedule for current class times.
Your first dance should feel like a highlight, not an ordeal. We make sure it does.
Bring us your song and your timeline and we will build something that fits both, from a simple, confident sway you can learn in a few lessons to a fully choreographed routine. Boris is a specialist here, equally comfortable choreographing for elite competitors and for couples who have never danced together before.
We also work with parent and child dances, wedding party numbers and anniversary couples.
For students who want the floor, the lights and the scoresheet.
We train children for competitive DanceSport and prepare adult students for ProAm events, where you compete partnered with your professional instructor. It is one of the most rewarding things an adult student can do, and it is open to far more people than most assume.
Our instructors have competed and placed at events including Ohio Star Ball, Millennium, Manhattan Championships and Empire DanceSport, and they bring that experience directly into preparation.
Mommy/Daddy & Me, Creative Dance and Pre-Ballet, led by Mariia Coombes.
These classes introduce young children to movement, musicality and coordination in a fun and supportive environment. They are designed around how children that age actually learn, which is to say through play, repetition and a lot of encouragement.
Parents are part of the Mommy/Daddy & Me class, which is often the best hour of the week for both of you.
Movement and music with a grown-up on the floor beside them.
Imagination first, technique gently introduced underneath it.
Posture, coordination and the first real vocabulary of dance.
